Used by healers for thousands of years, cannabinoids have entered the main-stream and are increasingly valued and prescribed by health care professionals. Knowledge of this botanical pharmaceutical grows ever day. Yet we, as nurses, need to know more. Did you know cannabis is a potent anticoagulant? A potentiator of SSRI’s? Or, that it can cause life a threatening reaction when combined with sildenafil? Yes, cannabinoids are metabolized on CYP-450 – and as such are famous for drug-drug interactions. Join us for a closer look at the pharmacology of cannabis. Learn about the endocannabinoid system and its presence in the entire body.

At the conclusion of this conference, participants will have a working knowledge of the empirical literature of medical marijuana and have increased their understanding of the therapeutic indications for marijuana, its pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and potential interactions, We will acquire both knowledge and confidence in the area of patient and family education.  Join us from anywhere!
